Why do we continue to share gripes about distance teaching? Not because we hope it will get us back into the classroom. The safety of my students is always my top priority.

It’s not about wanting to go back.

We’re not a business begging to be re-opened. 1/
It’s because this was a response to one of the biggest health threats in modern history...and it’s something that easily could’ve been handled and eradicated without any of *this*.

But it wasn’t

Now *every* child in the US has an ACE.

Disrupted formal education. 2/
And the longer our leadership continues it’s habitual finger-pointing and blame-shifting and just general NOT HELPING, students will continue to have disrupted educations.

It didn’t have to be like this. That’s the worst part. 3/
We continue to share our struggles because THIS is one of the many repercussions of ignoring science, valuing economic growth over human lives. I don’t want anyone to EVER forget that.

This all could’ve been prevented.
This all went down in the middle of my second year teaching. And I hate teaching this way.

This isn’t what any of us signed up for.

We’re barely making it through three months.

How are we going to have the strength to go back to this in the fall? 5/
