I've been thinking about this too & would love to hear what students think. Might we be better off deciding now to do fall online and then focusing our energy on enhancing that online experience (+ structuring it to transition smoothly to in-person when safe). E.g.,: 1/x https://twitter.com/DaraPurvis/status/1265658656844066821
setting up student-prof mentorships (esp. for 1Ls) with online meetings beginning in the summer. That might go a long way toward making up for missed in-person interactions in the fall. Plus establish relationships to continue once we return in person. 2/x
creating other online interaction opportunities between students & faculty (& between students) e.g., small reading groups (possibly 1 credit, possibly without credit); helping students to set up online externships locally and nationally or internationally ... etc.
