I try to not compare myself to my age mates/peers because you know; “own lane, own pace, own race” which I’m a firm believer in but is it ok to just feel shit sometimes about where you are in life vs your peers?

I in no way feel jealous or envy for their lives, if anything I get stoked seeing people win. I love seeing people happy, especially people I love, so it’s not a jealous thing.
But there are those moments where it’s just like, shucks, something is just lacking/missing but you just can’t put your finger on it, and no matter how much you try to figure it out, you just never really get there...
The cycle just repeats itself, days turn into months, months into years and before you know it, 4-5 years have gone by and you’re still thinking about how that “thing” that you can’t quite put a name to, is still missing/lacking in your life...
And after all those years you’re still convincing yourself that; “own lane, own pace, own race.” I mean, that’s what we’re conditioned to believe right?
From the Pinterest quotes, to the Instagram daily affirmation accounts, to the self-help books... it’s all about sticking to your lane sweetheart.
