Year after year we’ve asked Taylor to support the blm movement and recently she’s expressed regret she hasn’t done more. I resent that now that she’s “more active” it STILL feels like pulling teeth when it comes to issues that don’t directly oppress her, particularly with race.
you can say stuff like “she’s a musician” or “what is she gonna do” and all that shit. But when she asked you to vote you flooded her feeds with pictures of you voting. She DOES have an opportunity to create change. People are valid to demand more from her.
Before you start: you don’t get to treat Taylor like a poor learning victim who’s trying her best when her fans demand she do more. She’s fine. Asking taylor to step up does not equate to being a ‘bad fan’
Directing frustration at Taylor my seem silly but just an idea of Some of what speaking out would do:
- create change, to start
- tell her majority white fanbase where she stands and influencing them
- show support for her black fans in a majority white and racist fan base -

-show other influential voices to speak out too
This isn’t about how ‘woke’ she will look or we will if we stan an activist. Its not for cool white person points. It’s about the impact her voice can make that we have known and even celebrated for a while now.
