Are a higher % of white people killed by cops than black people? Yes. Bc they account the majority of the population. BUT black people make up 24% of police brutality cases, yet 13% of the population. Black people are nearly 3x more likely to be killed by police than white ppl.
Police brutality is an issue that DISPROPORTIONATELY affects the black community. That’s why people are upset.
Additionally, crime rates do not correlate with rates of police violence. While the cities of Spokane & Orlando had relatively low crime rates in 2019, their rates of police violence remained high.
There have been 98 officers arrested for fatal shootings since 2005. Only 35 of them have been convicted of a crime. Those who commit murder, despite being in positions of power, should rightfully be held accountable. Convictions are what’s important.
