These follow up questions Rose McGowan published from NYT asking Tara Reade to clarify some pretty wild claims- pro skier, cast of LaBamba, sued Census Bureau- give me hope they haven't let this go and will soon publish a decisive conclusion exonerating Joe Biden completely.

1/
I know I've been harsh on this subject of Tara Reade but I knew immediately she was lying.

I've walked down the Senate subway corridor 100 times and if what she says happened had happened, people riding the tram would have seen it.

Not to mention cameras and nearby police.

3/
And it's illegal for Hill staff to work campaign events so the "serve drinks" thing never happened.

Never mind that caterers provide bartenders, in DC there's an endless well of sycophants who would happily volunteer

No reason to break the law. Her legs can't be *that* good.
4/
I bring this up to acknowledge that it speaks to my personal experience. There's no reason for anyone to take my word, I'm just some girl on the internet. I shared my observations for analysis, not argument.

But first-hand knowledge is how these things tend to unravel.
5/
Jayson Blair got caught because he didn't know the Latina woman who was the subject of his series spoke English.

His editors back in NYC (where he also still was) had no way of knowing that, but he eventually ran into someone who did.

6/
The most frustrating part was people saying:

"Just because she's lying about some things doesn't mean she wasn't raped."

Yeah, it kinda does.

Tara had *checks notes* seven chances.

Are we going to let her keep revising until she comes up with something he can't refute?

7/
The stubborn refusal of MeToo'ers to admit they're wrong makes me sad.

The zeal with which everyone gleefully piled on is alarming.

I thought the MeToo movement was about getting to the truth, not a celebration of the downfall of prominent men.

8/ http://sallyal.ink/Trap2020
If Biden had attended the Gridiron dinner in *checks notes* 2008, 2007, or 2009, he would have been forced out of the race on the word of a defeated opponent - a well-known legit crazy person - her niece and four other teenagers.

That should be enough to give everyone pause.

9/
Yes, victims are often inconsistent. With me, everything came out in a tumble. I'd never talked about it and I kept remembering new details while I was talking. When you talk about a crazy person, you sound crazy.

Even my own family thought I was making things up. (Not for long)
But being fleshing out details and altering your allegations multiple times in the face of skepticism until you come up with something people are willing to believe are not the same thing.

How long did Tara maintain she had filed a report? Until it fell on her to request it.
11/
That @alivitali said even if there was no report, it didn't matter because that was about a different version of Tara's story than the one she's telling now.

Seriously?????

That walking disgrace to journalism should never work again. Sadly, she'll probably get promoted. 😠

12/
I've asked NPR @asmamk @DomenicoNPR repeatedly why they were the only ones to report that Tara's police report named Joe Biden when everyone else specifically said he was not named

Did they have inside information no one else had? Or did she just assume😠 https://twitter.com/SallyAlbright/status/1256219795160215554
You'd think they'd want to clear the situation up so the rest of us know which story is accurate.

But I'm literally nobody, so they haven't even acknowledged my question.

They're JOURNALISTS at an esteemed news organization.

Why doesn't anyone care about the truth?

14/
The idea of being a giant killer, a modern day Carl Bernstein, is enticing to up and comers.

But in this case, they're now lumped in with Blair and Janet Cooke, who had to give back her Pulitzer when she couldn't produce the 8 year old crack addict it turned out she made up.
15/
Scandals are titillating by definition.

But extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

We're talking about the future of our country.

For the love of god, can we at least TRY make sure we've got it right?

16/
People don't like to admit when they are wrong.

How mortifying to own up to shamelessly participating in the character assassination of a truly good man, just because you wanted it to be true.

No one wants to acknowledge they were played for a fool.

But it's time.

Time for MeToo'ers to concede:

- that allegations are NOT enough

- that if a woman says it's harassment it is NOT necessarily harassment

- that it's NOT "disrespectful to survivors" vet accusers and investigate their claims.

It's disrespectful not too.

18/
Tara Reade - and everyone who believed and promoted her story despite the mountain of evidence she's lying - have made a mockery of MeToo.

Situations like this make all women look bad and all victims less likely to be believed.

19/
People keep telling me to let it go, the story is over.

I'm not going to let it go until Joe Biden gets and apology and there's a party-wide consensus that what Tara Reade claimed absolutely positively did not happen.

Because here's the thing:

20/
Bernie-land is amateur hour.

GOP elevates rat-fucking to an art form.

The day Biden accepts the nomination, we can expect a parade of new "victims" with similar stories they can actually stick to, unimpeachable credentials, and rock-solid corroboration

Then what do we do?

21/
They're laying the groundwork now. Piece of cake.

That's why we have to stamp this out now. We must expose Tara Reade for the con artist she is and put this whole disgraceful episode behind us

Otherwise we'll MeToo ourselves into a 2nd Trump term, and almost certain doom.

22/
The Biden family deserves better.

And we deserve a leader who can lead us out of this living hell with competence, integrity, and dignity.

Time to get over your feels and self-indulgent grievances and admit what you've done.

"Tic Toc" as Tara said

Time's up, indeed 😠

23/23
Okay this is what I'm talking about.

Just. Stop.

I said it's "not necessarily" harassment, I didn't say it "never" is.

Why do you people insist on rationalizing to yourselves that he still MIGHT be guilty.

Just admit you got played, and do better.

I can't get to my mentions rn but I see a lot of people tweeting that you were wrong.

That's wonderful. Please don't feel bad.

There's no shame in getting conned. People run cons bc they work on normal, well-meaning people. It means you're open-minded, generous, and kind
25/
Like I said, everyone gets there on their own. You're here now, when it counts.

Tara Reade took advantage of survivors and allies, of our fervent desire support victims, to right centuries of wrong.

The shame is on her, not us.

Her and the deplorable cult of Bernie Sanders
26/
I take no satisfaction in being right.

This is nothing to celebrate or gloat over.

This is a terrible thing that happened, to all of us.

It's going to take a long time to recover.

But we can start the process now.
