make implicit racial bias exams part of the process of becoming a cop. the science is there, the tests exist. also conduct racism evaluation interviews w each đź‘® applicant and their loved ones. the latest killer had a photo online w a racist hat and should never have had a badge.
this should be priority #1 in our country. make the process to become a cop more selective. only way to weed out the racism that plagues this profession is to specifically design the selection / application process to ensure that no more racist individuals become cops.
and have an racism oversight office in every PD, kinda like an HR dept, but that constantly watches out over the current officers job statistics and social medias and stuff and looks for indicators of racism to spot the “bad apples” before they “fucking kill people”
ur telling me that big data can predict exactly what i want to shop for before i even realize i want it, etc, but can’t be used by a police dept to identify which cops post and search for racist shit and belong to racist online communities? use science, use data.
if this was a top priority for everyone including white ppl, we would radically modernize the way we screen new and current cops for racial bias. until that reckoning point, i guess we’ll just keep spewing bullshit like #AllLivesMatter and “split-second decisions are difficult.”
