I thought I'd do a thread of a ship being built on the Clyde. What would become @RFACardiganBay. I'd grown up messing about the northbank of the Clyde in Glasgow. This was the beginning of my Clydeside photography obsession.
Pic 1 & 2 - The bow section out in sight, March 2004.

April 2004 & looking across Castlebank St.
Pic 1 & 2 - The first of the mid blocks had been brought out of the bay & onto the slipway. The works in the foreground are what remained of the old Meadowside Granary, the old perimeter wall was all that remained, at that time.

May 2004 & three blocks now out on the slipway. All lined up & being welded together. The welders would be working under the white covered structures attached to the blocks. As you can see the Fairfield Titan is being used, the last major build she was used on, scrapped in 2007.
July 2004 & the start of the accommodation block & bridge. I developed a bit of a night photography obsession at this point. These are from the old rail embankment that ran parallel with Castlebank St, now levelled. To the right is @RFAMountsBay, being fitted out ahead of trials.
4th September 2004 and the accommodation block taking shape. Next up will be some photos from onboard the Pride of the Clyde, seen here heading down to Braehead.
