@ white oomfs, I know it’s tempting to tweet things like “block me if you’re racist!” and think you’re taking a stand but understand that racism is not like a light switch that people turn on and off. It’s something that’s taught to everyone, consciously or not, throughout your
life and you have to unlearn it and it’s a process that white people will have to commit their lives to unlearning due to how deeply it’s ingrained into everything. you’re never done learning and the people you want to cut contact with clearly need to learn too.
they’re more likely to learn from you than they would ever learn from black people. I know it seems unlikely and sometimes people are too stubborn and nothing will come of it but the effort to educate and bridge the ignorance gap should be made primarily by you as an ally.
Try to think less about how it makes you look/feel to have racists following you and think more about what your white followers could learn if they stick around for a while if you continue using your voice.
