/ I sometimes think about how both Futo and Tojiko have a very distinct shared circumstance where they were placed with heavy burdens by their respected clans and had go above and beyond to earn their spot in leadership. https://twitter.com/purenguyening/status/1265419042271215618
/ Tojiko's quick-tempered and relied on brut strength; a quirk inherited from Umako and Iruka. Hence why her spell card is considerably hard for TD. In contrast Futo's fight is much more forward but it's more of an endurance test.
/ She's generally perceived to be weaker than the average stage five boss so it's likely to me instead of using fear/sticks she relies on diplomacy and carrots to build relationships that are crucial in the world of politics.
/ While Tojiko can usually suppress dissent in her clan through fear; Futo relies on maintaining the trust of conflicting interests and navigating the very fine line to avoid favoring one faction over the other.
/ When they come to a head; they both gain a lot from each other. Tojiko can learn to mellow out and learn to talk first before striking. In the same breath, Futo can learn to stop taking crap from everyone sans Miko but also lean how to use anger constructively.
/ I think pretty often back then Miko talked very poorly of Futo and Tojiko on more than one occasion would pick a fight with Miko to defend her. (Though she would never do it if Futo was right there, only when she thought Futo would never know).
/ I kind of think Miko also has a fairly low opinion of Tojiko because of her ties to the Soga clan (granted I can't imagine anyone having a favorable opinion of the family that killed two of your uncles so....).
/ I can see Miko thinking Tojiko doesn't understand the intricacies of politics and Miko likewise doesn't the reward in appeasing the whims of the Soga Clan above the bare minimum.
/ It's striking to me that only once do you remove Futo from the picture some time between Futo's shikaisen process and Miko's that Tojiko dies. It's also worth noting there's never a clear point where Tojiko transfer her soul into the jar.
/ It can't have been before Futo transfered her soul into the plate because it would defeat the purpose of her being Miko's guinea pig. It wouldn't make sense for her to purposefully sabotage her own vessel.
/ So it's likely that it didn't happen after Miko transferred her soul into her sword....
/ Regardless of the implication from 9-10, Tojiko's TD profile is mentioned to basically be at Futo's beck and call (i.e. the entire reason Tojiko's here is because Futo brought her along).
/ I think because Miko looks down on both there's a shared interest in them seeing each others as equals; even more so given parallel backgrounds with different paths to navigating them.
/ In "Why She Was Murdered" by nuebako, there's an idea that I'm fairly fond of that I like to take and run:

Both agreed when they became shikaisen they decided the one to kill them is the other; not the shinigami.
/ The logic behind it is something like "we're in this together" and "the only one that can take me down is my equal (you)"
a/ This is probably why I also fell back into Kaito/Shinichi because there's a similar logic:

Kaito KID cannot be caught by anyone, but will allow himself to be caught by the great detective
Likewise, only the Detective of the East can catch KID.
/ I think post resurrection there were a lot of things that needed to be smoothed over; but given Akyuu seems to suggest Tojiko's losing her status as vengeful spirit and been demoted to ghost that causes thunder...
/ I think more than anything that demotion is very much influenced by Futo and not Miko; regardless of who actually killed her. Mostly because I can't really sense how much she'd take Miko seriously with the constant line in both profiles ('she's currently serving under Miko').
/ A lot of this is built around specific interpretations from canon material + history; but I think this type of relationship is severely underrated in the ENG community.

A connection due to shared circumstance; a rivalry where they are truly equals and foils to one another.
/ A dynamic that is always equal give and take...and if need be; the only one that can take down the other.

There's nothing in canon; but it would not surprise me if the ultimate give-take in their relationship is to take the other down; i.e. they truly die together.
/20 But you know, a radish on a rad dish is funny.
