Hmmmmmm here we go, 'Delight' first impressions 🤙🤙

'Candy'

I really like that overall, the song has a good balance of rhythm and melody, so even if the main vocal line is really complex, it still flows really well. Like, I'm sure it was hard to pull off, but the song really--
--feels effortless. I love how Baekhyun's voice is shown at its best, with the way he goes from low to high registers, with flawless transitions into falsetto. It's just so GOOD.
For the music, too, there's contrast, bc the foundation of the song is this kinda deep bass line--
--but what holds the whole song together is the little, idk, keyboard (?) sound, which gives 'Candy' its light, cool vibe, I think. I really like it ahhh T - T

'R U Riding?'

What I like about this one is that, it starts with B's lower register, which we don't hear that often--
I like that the songs starts with a more blues-y vibe. For me, 'R U Riding?' reminds me of 90s R&B songs, kind of? I really like it. Also, it has really nice harmonies in the bridge, I love that.
I don't have much to say about this one, not bc I don't love it, just bc it's not--
-- as striking as the other songs on the album, I feel. But it's still a good song for sure!

'Bungee'

That jazzy piano intro? Beautiful. And the way B goes straight into falsettos, it's so GOOD!!! This song kinda reminds me of 2016 DEAN songs, which I'm more than ok with--
I think it's bc of the way he uses the higher register/falsetto for the most part, which DEAN does a lot, too. But it's definitely a Baekhyun song, because that high note.... whew, amazing. Ahh, I love this song so much, it's so interesting all the way to the end <3
'Underwater'

So, my musical background is of classical music, so I have a bit of a hard time describing some of the sounds in more synthetizer-based music... which is the case here, idk how to say this, but like... the song sounds more electronic? Like, you can recognize--
-- the instrument that produced the sound, but it's been processed? idk? But like, the bass here sounds really sharp and it creates a nice effect I think. And I like the way the plucked strings of the guitar act almost like a percussive instrument. Again, the transitions--
--into falsetto are smooth af, I'll never get tired of this T T ... Overall, I can really feel the cool vibe of this song, which goes well with the title (I haven't read any of the lyrics, just a heads up LOL). The outro also has really nice harmonies, it's such a satisfying way-
to finish the song đź‘Ś

'Poppin' '

So, as I was listening to this, the feeling that I got was... it kinda sounds like if Lay's 'X BACK' and B's 'Betcha' had a baby. It has 'Betcha' 's kind of bouncy, upbeat rhythm, with the kind of synthetizer-like bass sounds of 'X BACK'.
Um also, the chorus, it fcking slaps. I have nothing else to say LOL. Again, the vocals are soooo smooth, it's kinda insane... B really worked hard, his control over is voice is even better than in 'City Lights'. The song kinda gives me a beach party vibe, it's really laid back--
--and fun.

'Ghost'

Ok, this one is really something, it really stands out from the previous songs. It's more 'dance', I think? And it's really unpredictable, like, the chorus kinda just happens, there's not really a transition, I really liked that, it's interesting.
'Ghost' is really catchy, but with a medium tempo, so it still fits the relaxed vibe of the album. It's also very layered, instrumentally speaking, there's a lot of different string sounds, and the piano that gives it a different colour. The harmonies in the second chorus--
--are so, so nice T T... As I wrote the notes for this thread I couldn't stop dancing, LOL, the song is so good.

'Love Again'

From the first few seconds I could just tell it's a Colde song... it's so obvious, I love it. It's just a very chill song, and it's really different--
--bc what carries the song is the acoustic guitar, which we haven't really heard in any of the other songs. The second verse is so great, the rhythm of the vocals and guitar together is really different from the first one, but it still ties in well with the chorus/pre-chorus--
And the little riffs in the outro, just... beautiful T T. And the way the song finishes kinda softly, it's such a good way to close the album, I'm... wow.
After a few listens this is still my favourite song on the album, it's just... perfect T v T
So, in conclusion, Baekhyun really ATE that, like... it's so impressive how effortlessly he can pull off such difficult songs one after the other. You can really tell he's worked very hard on this and he's improved so much. He's really amazing ahhh T v T
