A short thread regarding the end times and how the following make sense:

2020: The end is near ✅
1237 AD: The end is near ✅
632 AD: The end is ALSO near ✅ https://twitter.com/ApostateRidvan/status/1265466514519572483
1. The end of time has been close by even during the time of Prophet Dawud.

This is recorded in Jami' at-Tirmidhi [3356 Grade: Hasan] with the phrase:

هذا رجل من آخر الأمم من ذريتك يقال له داود
"This is a man from the late nations of your offspring called Dawud."
2. The Prophet ﷺ indicated that his death and the end times are near by showing his index and middle fingers together.

[Sahih Bukhari 4936]

Now keep these points at the back of your mind - 1400 years has passed since Prophet Muhammad's death and about 3000 years since Dawud.
3. Earlier nations lived a long life. Prophet Noah himself lived at least 950 years as told in the Qur'an

"We sent Noah to his people. So he stayed among them for a thousand, less fifty, years"

[29:14].
This shows that there exist a huge time gap between Adam (first) and his long list of progeny i.e. Noah.. Ibrahim.. Yusuf.. Moses.. until our prophet Muhammad.

Note: there are more than 124,000 prophets sent to the world. [Sahih Ibn Hibban 361]
Note: it is not a long shot to even relate the archeological findings of Homo Sapiens to Adam and earlier nations mentioned in Islam since there are no explicit details regarding this matter.

Estimated to be around 300,000 years prior, now compare it to 3000, you get the idea.
The above should suffice to explain the problem, but lets look at another interesting perspective:
4. Our time relative to the heavens is vastly different. What we perceive of a long timespan could be a short period of time to another.

The Qur'an is clear on this:

"In fact, one day with your Lord is like one thousand years according to your calculation."

[22:47]
Someone wrote and I quote,

"How could the immense mystery of Time behind our ideas of it be enforced on our minds better? Our Day may be a thousand or fifty thousand years, and our years in proportion."
The above is talking about this verse from the Qur'an:

"He manages (every) matter from the sky to the earth, then it (every matter) will ascend to Him in a day the measure of which is one thousand years according to the way you count."

[32:5]
Another similar note:

"..from Allah the Lord of the stairways, to whom ascend the angels and the Spirit in a day the length of which is fifty thousand years."

[70:3-4]

Both of the verses are talking about the speed of heavenly affairs - swift in comparison to us.
Hence,
if (i) the end nations had commenced since Prophet Dawud's time until now and (ii) our time relative to the heavens are vastly different..

..then it makes perfect sense for time to be ticking near The Hour even after 3000 years.
The 'long period' of time that we experience from our limited perspective is actually short in relation to the perspective of The Creator of time.

And this means that our distance (time) to The Hour is coming nearer and nearer.
Additionally, this shows that no one will ever know of The Hour except Allah.

In such long space of time (our perspective), not a single soul could pinpoint its timing except for what has been disclosed of its signs.
Allah says in the Qur'an about The Hour being close by even though we see it distant:

"They see it far off. And we see it near."

[70:6-7]

.

No one knows better than The One who created our universe and the space and time.

Allah knows best.
