I am a Filipinx American residing on stolen Native land, in a country built by & on the lives & forced labor of enslaved Africans; I have a responsibility to show up to do the work of dismantling wh*te supremacy & this settler colonial operation alongside Black & Indigenous folx.
As we witness the Black community once again get brutally attacked, murdered & targeted by the State & those that benefit from State violence (looking at you Amy Cooper) we must commit to not be silent bystanders.
During a time when our own community is facing rampant anti-Asian violence, some
of us may choose to go insular. In the hopes that if we don’t make noise, it will pass over us. This wh*te violence against our communities is intentional & interconnected.
If we Asian Americans want this country to be a safe space for us it needs to be safe for everyone. This complicity and colluding to white supremacy and the settler colonial state will never protect us. It only makes us more vulnerable.
I’m calling on and in my Asian American folks on here and want to know how can I support those of you who decried anti Asian violence one day and are silent to anti Black violence today. Growth is always possible.
The only way we will get through these times is together with relationships built on solidarity. I humbly invite you to take a moment to look inwards to ask yourself where your silence is coming from.
And when you’re ready reach out to me and I’ll be happy to support your process in collectively dismantling this white supremacist settler colonial operation.
This Filipinx / Asian American is and will always be for Black Lives.

How can I support you in getting to that place as well?
And when you get to that place let’s work together to fight for a more just and equitable world. Because Black folx shouldn’t have to carry the burden of liberating off of us anymore.

#BlackLivesMatter always.
*Because Black folks shouldn’t have to carry the burden of liberating all of us anymore.
