Wanna take some time to go over the "good minority, bad minority" complex that majorities often have.
Basically, people from the majority often only support rights for members of an oppressed minority as long as those members conform to the majority's political agenda.
Think the "white moderate" that MLK Jr talked about.
I've seen that complex being played out when it comes to Ex Muslims too. Most Muslims believe in killing us anyway.
But among the few who do consider us worthy of living, this complex still exists.
So when Iman Sultan says that she only considers those apostates who identify as "Ex Muslim" to be Islamophobic, she's a victim to that complex.
She's creating a dichotomy of good minority, bad minority. Those who silently leave Islam and never speak about it deserve rights.
Those who speak about their struggles are Islamophobic and don't deserve empathy.
And even her selective empathy is useless because the apostates she does deem worthy of rights are still gonna get killed by her fellow Muslims.
This whole dichotomy is a facade to hide her bigotry.
Either you support the rights of all apostates, including those who don't fit your agenda, or you're complicit in the crimes that your group commits against us.
