A major crisis for democracy and civil society is unfolding now with the collapse of journalism as we know it.

We probably should get onto this immediately.
With all respect to the large legacy media owners and executives, don’t think they can help much with this and are busy restructuring to deal with the crisis.

We need innovation, new ideas, new regulatory systems, new mechanisms to assist.
News media innovators who can help:

@simoncrerar @MelissaSweetDr @PeterFray @cmt_UTS @prueclarke @hughjm
Let’s talk to the new news operations in Naracoorte, Ararat, the Southern Highlands, Horsham.
And with all love and respect, @walkleys and @JN_Institute and anyone trying to help journalism right now, we must see beyond the traditional players. Or journalism is gone.
The debate about the survival of news has revolved for too long around the business model and existing operators protecting a shrinking share of audience and profits.

We must move beyond this.
