Based upon my Twitter feed right now, White Americans are disappointed that the rocket launch was postponed and Black Americans are disappointed that racism is alive and well and claiming the lives of loved ones. This is a stark contrast.
White Americans - when injustice strikes we cannot remain silent. Silence is racism. Our silence allows the systematic oppression to continue. It is our responsibility to hold each other to account.
It is our responsibility to magnify the voices of Black Americans who are sharing their experiences, without adding our own thoughts, without expecting praise or thanks, and without expecting emotional labor.
It is our responsibility to have conversations with our children about racism. Our children see the injustice, and our silence condones it.
