And now I'm in a media zoom call with the Reign to talk to Lu Barnes and Bill Predmore about the Challenge Cup #NWSL
Predmore said that the team is moving to small group training in Thurston County, which is now in Washington state's phase 2, but they can only do max 5 players (instead of 8) per state rules https://www.theolympian.com/news/coronavirus/article243026721.html
Predmore reiterates what Baird said on the #NWSL con call about developing a sense of community responsibility to keep everyone in the athlete village according to their medical protocols, as opposed to punitive measures (fines, disqualification, etc.)
Predmore: Washington state doesn't look likely to allow full team training in any county, so Reign may depart this weekend for Utah and start training there (presumbly after going through #NWSL's travel protocol, testing before and after travel)
Predmore: thinks next week final #NWSL tournament rules will go out, min roster size is 22 and max is 28 (including up to 4 supplemental players), he expects Reign will be close to 28 by the roster freeze date June 21, they'll have trialists with them who could earn a spot
Predmore: #NWSL will put together charter flights for some teams, Dell Loy Hansen has private planes and has offered to transport players to Utah. (once again, subject to league's protocols for testing before and after travel)
Predmore: Reign will unveil new home and away kits some time before June 27. It has been more complicated from product perspective given pandemic, so kits are slower to arrive. #NWSL
