Long thread and thoughts that I need to get off my chest in light of what’s been going on

1) Being a black male med student, I believe some people who I’ve never met will judge me based off
the color of my skin.

I do not have the same rights and privileges that others do.
2)I’ve been told the only reason BU, Brown, and NYIT have taken me in was due to my athletic ability and affirmative action. What those people often forget is how my kindness, patience, and work-ethic lead me to all the beautiful opportunities that Im a so blessed to have today.
3)What I fear most is the insidious behavior and rhetoric from those who wish to weaponize my skin color to continue to put people who look like me in fear. That behavior cannot and should never be tolerated.
4)I’ve never and will never have the luxury to hide behind my skin when things get tough, as some of you may. Even if we follow every rule and keep our composure, we will continue to be blamed, labeled, sought out unjustly, and thought of as not good enough due to our skin color
