this might be a rant, but i& #39;m thinking about...all of these facebook posts and tweets from non-Black people, particularly white people, who say we need to "do something" about the police murdering Black people. what do y& #39;all really mean? what is that ~something~?
it seems like "something" for some of #yall is waiting for another Black person to be murdered on film so you can repost the video and then call the DAs office asking for "justice" aka putting the officers in jail...
mind you, that same DAs office is only acting because they& #39;ve been spotlighted by national media and want to look like they can hold "bad cops" accountable. they wouldn& #39;t budge if something wasn& #39;t on tape and caught everyone& #39;s attention. but i digress...
i know i& #39;m young, but i& #39;ve watched non-Black people respond to Black death at the hands of police like clockwork. you repost people dying, call the DAs office, and then you forget about the Black life that was lost before a trial even starts because the life lost wasn& #39;t yours.
meanwhile Black people working to abolish the police are right there staring you in the face. i guess i& #39;m just saying...shift your thinking
