this is maybe a small thing, but many universities struggle to provide adequate mental health care to students under normal circumstances. I really cannot imagine how campus mental health services will fare w/ students back on campus this fall as a pandemic continues to unfold...
I'm just thinking about how traumatic it is to a campus community when, for example, a student dies, and wondering how campuses are going to support students anxious about their safety and that of their classmates and teachers, and worried about their families at home.
just to clarify: I know this is an important issue. I only prefaced it by saying it’s maybe a small(er) issue compared to the huge life-or-death considerations I imagine uni leaders are grappling with at the moment. but I absolutely think this needs to be part of the discussion!
