Police shootings & deaths aren’t a white & black problem. I wrote this four years ago & it’s in my book too. 72% of all people killed by police are white, Asian or Hispanic. White people are nearly twice as likely to be killed by police as black people: https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/police-shootings-aren-t-a-white-or-black-problem-070716/">https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/police-sh...
One of the problems with Twitter is rather than addressing issues that affect all of us in the country, identity politics take over & create only victims & villains based on those identities. Data matters: https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/police-shootings-aren-t-a-white-or-black-problem-070716/">https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/police-sh...
Justice should be served in all cases, but we shouldn’t treat individual cases as representative of a truth the data doesn’t reflect. Twitter is a medium that thrives on fear. Often that fear isn’t supported by the data and leads to worse outcomes than logic & reason would.
