Can already look at Texas’n some of it’s outbreaks since it opened up. People travel, this shit is contagious af, & it takes up to 2 weeks to see symptoms. People are letting the main reasoning for staying at home fade away, it’s so people stay healthy’n slows the spread of this.
This won’t go away, and numbers are being skewered. Our jobs don’t give us adequate health benefits, mine doesn’t give me any period. It’s literally a health hazard for me to continue working like I do without benefits @ the amount I make per cost of health benefits/doctor visit.
Like people are not understanding the full effects of this virus, it’s not JUST the fear of catching this shit alone. Jfc people need to really take a step back and take a look at how their perspective may be biasing their view. Cuz to me, this shit has probably screwed-
-my chances at management at my job. This will probably cause me to look for a new job due to my current one’s treatment of me’n more so it’s lack of a response to covid for the safety of it’s employees. So there goes my planned income. So there goes my chances of moving like-
-I had planned. Like this covid situation pushes everything back. God forbid I get sick, bc yeah my 2020 goals have been screwed already, but if I get sick, the entire household will have to be put into quarantine, which means even more weeks without income for a few of us here.
Like this effects people’s mental health, their future plans, their goals, their financial health, their home life, & at one point before furlough while I was still working, our household was genuinely worried about being able to afford rent.
We still are, I’m being a good citizen and putting all of my money away the best I can so I can best prepare for the future. Means planning for the worst. Means I can’t use my “over funded” benefits for much fun because it’s all going into making sure we don’t get fucked over.
Idek where I was going with this thread. Rabbit trail. Just annoyed with people’s willingness to not look at other people’s perspectives. Also annoyed with media and our government for contributing in making Americans hate one another for having differing views.
Like dude just take a look at the history we were to read in school vs researching now on your own? 14-18 year old me thought the US was a pure beacon of good in the world... how did we go about creating such different realities for people? It’s hecking insane.
Like we’re lil pro-USA drones coming out of school lmao. Like “is that a bad thing?” Well when the alternative is studying our history in all its glorious ugliness, so we can petty understand the context behind what’s going on today, THEN Y E S.
