Sask. COVID-19 update:

More sad news, two more deaths to report.

Both are from the far north, both tested positive, one is an individual in their 80s, the other in their 60s, which is likely Nelda Maurice, who was identified by her family.

That's 10 deaths now in total.
Three new cases of COVID-19, the provincial total now 637.

Two in the Regina region, one in the far north.

68 cases are active. Ten more recoveries, with that total now 559.

Four people in hospital – one receiving inpatient care in Regina, three in the ICU in Saskatoon.
Of the 637 cases:

141 cases are travellers;

363 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);

77 have no known exposures; and

56 are under investigation by local public health.
Overall:

50 cases are health care workers; however, not all related to work.

253 of the cases are from the Far North, 167 are from the Saskatoon area, 111 from the North, 78 from the Regina area, 16 from the South and 12 from the Central region.
93 cases involve people 19 years of age and under, the rest are adults.

227 cases are in the 20-39 age range; 195 are in the 40-59 age range; 104 are in the 60-79 age range; and 18 are in the 80-plus range.

51 per cent of the cases are females and 49 per cent are males.
To date, 45,118 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.

538 more than yesterday.
Public health is reminding people that the limit of 10 people at a gathering remains in place.

And while together those people should remain physically distanced and practice hand-washing etc.
Doctor Saquib Shahab will be holding a news conference at 2.30pm.
Now we know why public health sent that reminder out.

There is a community outbreak in Saskatoon.

Stems from a private, family gathering that was above the gathering size allowed.

It is under investigation, but it is believed it is contained.
Dr Shahab doesn't have the details of the investigation and what they know so far.

He thinks it was an outside BBQ, something like that.

He's reminding people this is "not business as usual".

We have to constant reminding ourselves of the risk and make choices to minimise it.
Dr Shahab says there will be more info on this investigation in the "coming days".
Here are the details.

It is two family gatherings. https://twitter.com/SaskHealth/status/1265753458025435137?s=20
