I have great admiration and respect for Alh. Atiku Abubakar @atiku whom I’ve never met until recently at an unexpected encouter where he gifted me the cap he was wearing after vexing for me.

So there was a ceremony at my family house and Wazirin Adamawa was there and I, gingerly eased through the crowd to go and have a handshake with legendary Atiku. As I extended my hand to shake him he took my hand and suddenly began complaining about
how my hand was stinking of sweat. I was so embarrassed and moved to a corner in shame. Everybody’s eyes were on me.
As I was there in the corner catching my shame somebody came to tell me that the Waziri is calling me. I went there almost unbelievably.

When I came, the Waziri said come here my friend. He then removed the cap he was wearing and gave it to me.
It was one of the best moments of my life. It was the best feeling. I felt glad, grateful and proud, even after waking up from sleep the feelings did not waver.
