In order to get khula do you need your husband to sign it? That just seems slightly unfair :(

Context is my last few retweets on a sisters situation
I sincerely believe all sisters should put a unrestricted right to divorce in their nikah contract because I have seen so many sisters go begging from to imam, mosque to mosque & the sharia council justifying xyz (yes even wife beating). It is a humiliating experience for some
There are so many leeways especially if a man knows his fiqh. I have witnessed enough women suffering in my extended family, friends & wider community. And because of that I do think its important to have a safety net eg can leave right away
Before this thread enters gcs and trads find it see the context of why I said sisters should have the right to divorce without waiting for a mans signature (a sisters life who has been ruined because her cheating husband never bothered to sign the papers)
