This one is my emotional support headcanon tbh. Phoenix as a ftm trans just resonates with me a lot. I’ll try to give a brief explanation as to why, but essentially… even before he’s had the Magatama with him, he was able to communicate with Mia. (+)

+ The Kura’in Channeling is exclusive to women so why did Phoenix manifest potential for these powers in the first place? I’d say due to traditional gender roles it recognizes Phoenix as being AFAB but since his “soul” is of a man, it could never manifest in it’s entirety. (+)

+ Not to mention something that bothered me since the trilogy is how he always seems to be broke yet in AA4 he’s suddenly a legend in the legal work? I’d like to think not only does he spend most of his money with Maya Pearls and Trucy but also because he’s saving up for HRT (+)
