Thread: Rod Rosenstein is coming after James Comey

Remember, the Crossfire Hurricane investigation was opened on Trump’s presidential campaign by James Comey on July 31, 2016, seeking to determine if Russia was interfering in the election and to determine links between Russia and the Trump campaign.

After Comey was fired and Sessions recused himself from the investigation, Rosenstein appointed Mueller Special Counsel and Crossfire Hurricane was bifurcated into an FBI counterintelligence ininvestigation and a Special Counsel criminal investigation.

Rosenstein was *not involved* in 2016 when Crossfire Hurricane was opened. So *why* is Rosenstein testifying to Congress next week about the 2016 opening of Crossfire Hurricane by Comey’s FBI, and *why* is he saying people need to be held accountable for opening it?

Take a look at the statement Rosenstein has given in advance of his testimony:

This is shocking stuff from Rosenstein, talking about people being held accountable. He’s obviously preparing to back Barr’s claim that Crossfire Hurricane lacked a predicate and that the entire Russia investigation is poisoned at its origin and never should have happened.

More than that, he appears ready to attribute blame to Comey, opening the door to potential show trials against Obama’s “deep state.”

In other words, *this* is “Obamagate.”

And Rod Rosentein is going to do all he can to give it legs next week.

Comey had better brace himself, because the snake who crafted Trump’s phony cover story for firing him is back to put another dagger in his back.
