In Minneapolis helping ⁦ @USATODAY⁩ cover the aftermath of #GeorgeFloyd’s death. A couple dozen of people are fathered outside of Cup Foods, where a Minneapolis police officer knelt on Floyd’s neck while trying to make an arrest.
Gathered... dammit.
Many more people at the MPD 3rd precinct. Officers behind the gate fired off a projectile moments ago, sending a group of people running.
Dozens in the street along Minnehaha Avenue near East Lake Street. Another 20-30 more across the street outside of the nearby Minnehaha Mall and AutoZone.
Went and talked with a couple people who knew #GeorgeFloyd. Returned to 38th and Chicago about 6:15 pm and the crowd has gotten bigger. More signs, louder music but very peaceful. Jade Sheriff, 32 (pictured) is holding her sign in hopes to protect her two children.
Amid the crowd, Nia Wilson, 19, has her laptop (and sanitizer) out along E. 38th Street to help get people registered vote.

Many more police and many more protesters than earlier outside of the 3rd precinct near Lake St. and Minnehaha Ave. People put their hands up after someone threw a rock at police and an officer aimed his orange projectile launcher toward the crowd.

Some smoke in the street after a device was fired from police.
Some broke into this nearby liquor store and opened a back door. Dozens rushed in and walked out with bottles and cans. Police standing across the street watching.

Some of the items fired shown here. Crowd still numbering over 400 but more spread after tear gas and other nonlethal shots were used. Dumpsters removed from the street and some barricades moved out of the road.
Nothing fired for several minutes now. .... Wait someone just let off a bottle rocket (not in video).
Crowd rushes to protect person hit by projectile right in the intersection of Lake and Minnehaha. She emerged with her ear bleeding. Not sure what led up to the blood.
Unidentified woman seen coming out of crowd after police fired something into the street. She was in tears and had paper towel held to her bleeding head. Those with her did not answer any questions about what happened or who she is.
Young man named Mason said he was hit by a rubber shot from police. People clapped for him as he took a seat. He says he’s fine. Others helping cover his wound. #GeorgeFloyd
AutoZone at the corner of Minnehaha and Lake has a fire burning inside of a broken window. The store is right across the street from the police station.
Moments after one man stops a couple people from looting the liquor store, another man is seen trying to put out the AutoZone fire. People running away because they think the oil and other chemicals in the auto parts store will explode.
