Who is 'we'?

BBC complaints don't work like this. The procedure takes months & eventually ends up in 'executive complaints unit'. This is an extraordinary review by unknown persons. This is some seriously high level intervention because this is not how the BBC complaints & review system works, let me tell you. Only time I had any joy was when the wonderful @rachelparris & @MashReport stepped in..

Everything about this smells off. @maitlis already stellar reputation will be undimmed but targeting an individual journalist by @BBCNews seems designed to appease politically motivated critics not address alleged failings in editorial oversight - which is not her responsibility
