by stating that people could be denied care if they fall into one of the following categories:

-Burn victims
-Cardiac arrest
-Severe cognitive impairment (inability to carry out activities of daily living independently) due to progressive disease

The petition asks:
"-That the exclusion criteria referring to specific disabilities (such as cognitive impairment, Parkinson& #39;s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) be removed from the Protocol;

-That measurement instruments relating to functional autonomy (such as the clinical frailty score or the SMAF) cannot be used to exclude a patient from intensive care;
-That the guarantees necessary so that clinical judgment during the triage process cannot implicitly include discriminatory prejudices concerning the value of the life of a disabled person. An explicit statement to that effect should be included;
-That the necessary accommodations for disability, during and after critical care, so that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to receive, understand and benefit from this care;
-That people with disabilities and their representatives can participate in the revision of the Protocol;
-The Ministry of Health and Social Services should be more transparent about the triage process for access to intensive care set up in Quebec, in order to maintain public confidence."
