Due to the constraints of COVID-19, my aunt had a choice to make: continue to resist her cancer to the end, but likely end up hospitalized where family would be unable to be with her, or seize control - which would mean potentially leaving time (albeit painful time) on the table.
She chose the latter, passing peacefully this morning with assistance.
For what it’s worth, I’d respect anyone’s decision in that circumstance. Well-trod rhetoric about battling/losing the battle against cancer are somehow both hyperbolic and overly simplistic.
But my main point here is that due to current health situation, countless people with medical situations unrelated to COVID-19 will continue to have to make tough (nearly impossible) decisions about their end-of-life treatment.
So I’m going to continue to take the utmost offense to pictures of people flocking to crowded beaches, parks, and backyard BBQs right now.

You are putting further stress on our healthcare systems for all in need. And I suspect you do not understand the depth of your selfishness.
Just one more thought: I’m not saying you need to sit in your 300 sq ft studio apartment until we get a vaccine. You can safely go outside to walk your dog, go for a run, etc. But there are some precautions and concessions that need to be considered for your safety and others.
