1/ One of things that coronavirus has exposed is that the densification model of Inner London is entirely contingent on people being able to escape on a regular basis, flying off on holiday or driving out of the capital to stay elsewhere.
2/ That's why some of our green spaces are subject to unsustainable numbers of visitors at this time. In summer, we'd normally expect 20% of the borough to be elsewhere. Since, in world with fewer flights and car journeys, it would be normal for people to stay closer to home...
3/ ...we need to start planning our cities for this eventuality. This means extracting net gain in green infrastructure and usable green space from Planning. It also means following Hackney's lead in tearing up roads to deliver new neighbourhood parks. https://twitter.com/jonburkeUK/status/1225126564616187905
