"Because of the contrast of good Democratic presidents and bad Republican ones over a 30 year period, the country could continue to shift profoundly towards the Democrats, as it did in the 1930s through the 1960s.
"Democrats have already won more votes in 6 of the past 7 Presidential elections with much smaller margins with younger voters.
"If these current trends continue we are looking at a completely different political landscape in the coming decades, one which is likely to leave the Democrats in a very dominant position."
The author suggests these age - based numbers could lead to an era of Democratic dominance similar to the New Deal era.
What's even more alarming for the GOP is that the racial mix of American voters is becoming increasingly tilted towards minorities. The GOP base is older white people.
