we scream “justice for ________” after seeing these executions on our timelines but the only answered echo we hear back is the scream of another black person being slaughtered the week after.

when & where does the cycle stop?

public lynchings may be a thing of the past but ask yourself, are the recurring videos on our timelines we’re subjected to watching any different?

strangled, choked & tortured at the mercy of a white man - the only difference is there’s no noose.
slavery in america was never abolished, it’s been carefully woven into its policing system to justify the continuous harassment, humiliation and torture of the black community & i’m sick to my core of waking up to hear of yet another black brother being inhumanely executed.
& let it be abundantly clear, if you’re non-black & occupy black spaces you have an even bigger obligation to stand up and speak the fuck out.

everyone wants to be black until it’s time to be black, share in our brothers’ plight & not just their success.
