The struggles with CT unemployment right now is real. I will be posting what I have had to go through in the last few months & what I am still unfortunately going through to finally get my benefits in the pinned tweet.
@CTDOL @DanteBartolomeo @GovNedLamont @SenatorMaroney #HELP
I am a server/bartender in the state of CT. I applied for unemployment on March 12th with a backdate of the 7th. I was emailed an approval 5 hours after. I waited for my money every week & when it did not come I did a claim inquiry. Only to find out my $ was put on a hold.
I tried calling the CT DOL #& #39;s to get some help in rectifying the situation, but all I ever got was busy tones or the phone would continuously ring for lengthy periods of time and then abruptly hang up.
Next I received an email on April 4th stating that I needed to file manually because my return to work date that I was told to put in for COVID19 had passed. However, when trying to do so I was then told I was not authorized to file online and I needed to contact someone.
Due to not being able to contact anyone, I filed missed claims every week to keep my claim active while hoping DOL would fix and process my claims. I also continued calling the numbers online. Still only receiving busy tones or lengthy ringing with an abrupt hang up.
I was at my wits end, I live paycheck to paycheck as a Server/Bartender & my bills were piling up. My family reached out to @SenatorMaroney & his aid Brandon for help. I responded back to them in email w/ details. Hoping that their contacts @CTDOL would help me fix the situation.
I received an email from Mr. Hayden on May 1st telling me he had reached someone at DOL and they were in the process of fixing my issues. So there seemed to be hope...
On May 4th I logged in to my account to find a 41 Message code: Also still no leeway with phone calls.
On May 5th Brandon responded back letting me know he has contacted his contact at DOL stating the issues have not been resolved. On May 11th he informed me I had been denied due to not making enough in the benefit year.
