The current govt is acting surprised by yesterday’s revelations when they’ve had the Wettlaufer report since, last December? Wasn’t that the justification they actually used, and I repeated, last week for striking a commission vs a public inquiry? 2/

So yes, I believe Minister Fullerton has to bear responsibility for her file. Doesn’t mean her predecessors aren’t equally or more culpable but they’re no longer in a position to be held accountable. But I also have to ask, why didn’t the PO know? Did she not flag it? 3/

Is that a failing of the Minister? Regardless, the buck stops with the Premier. In Ottawa, we always say PMO is too controlling. In Ontario, I have to wonder if PO is not involved enough. I’m sorry, I know this will annoy a lot of my conservative colleagues. 4/

I believe they are doing their best. But fair is fair. We ALL need to take responsibility for what has happened and continues to happen to seniors across this country. This is a societal problem. And we all need to do better. Nobody should be smug about this report. Nobody. 5/
