some police officers gain a power trip that they wish they had their entire lives, unfortunately officers have a lack of understanding that they are not above a human being. excessive force is what they look forward to, as they are not held as accountable as they should be.

i can assure you its a much more “us vs. them” mentality in police departments, rather than “serve and protect.” i get that their job can be very dangerous, or risky, but human beings- especially african americans- should not be automatically viewed as a threat

if us as citizens are viewed as threats, so will the police be viewed as one. the police scare me more than make me feel protected, i cant imagine the hardships african americans have to go through on a daily basis.

we have to do something, not only pray but enforce justice and an entire change of law enforcement ethics. my heart goes out to all of the victims and the families of victims that suffered from police brutality and racism. may we finally once learn as a country, and change.
