The way folks have forgotten about Breonna Taylor reminds me of how Black pastors rallied together to do “Hoodie Sunday” to make a unified statement regarding the murder of Trayvon Martin and, when Rekia Boyd was killed weeks later, no such unified statement was made.
You saw it recently when folks were drawing attention to and lamenting the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. We literally found out about both of them around the same time but Ahmaud’s death was the focus.
Time and time again, we see that the killings of Black girls and women will never matter as much to us as the killings of Black boys and men.

That’s why you can keep all these “Sexism&the Black Church” Zooms. Folks just creating content. They don’t care for real.
