Caroline Nokes MP asks Boris why there are not more women involved in making decisions relating to the Covid-19 response + where he is getting advice on how equality impacts the economy and he could not answer.

He could not answer.
When talking about economic recovery women must be central to these discussions.

Economists constantly highlight the importance of the productivity of women and their participation in the labour market as a crucial resource in economic growth.
As we turn from growth to look at large scale recovery, women's participation will be essential in stimulating growth + replenishing workers in an economy now impacted by shielding + social distancing measures.

But Boris could not answer.

He actually laughed!
I say all this with the caveat that talk of economic recovery only tells us so much + says nothing of how equal or socially just an economy is or about the unequal distribution of unpaid work between men + women, or any other group.

Another reason women must be round the table!
