Today, on Khilafat Day – a day of joy for Ahmadi Muslims across the world – I am also reminded of the fact that tomorrow marks 10years since two Ahmadi Mosques in Lahore were targeted in a heinous terrorist attack and over 80 Ahmadi Muslims were martyred. 1/
In the intervening years, i have seen on many occasions how Huzoor has cared for the victims of the 28 May attacks. The love, compassion and prayers he has showered upon them is a living example of the blessings of Khilafat. 2/
Sometimes, you hear of politicians or leaders who write a letter or call the wife of a soldier killed in action for their country. Yet, after making that call or writing that letter, do those leaders ever again pay personal attention to the fate & wellbeing of those families? 3/
On the other hand, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) has, from the first day personally shown incredible love to the families and loved ones of the 28 May attacks and protected and cared for them as though they were his own children. 4/
There are many incidents i could share but I’m going to share one that was particularly beautiful and emotional to witness. It occurred in Germany in 2015 at the Jalsa Salana. 5/
As Huzoor walked towards his office, he was introduced to an Ahmadi family, who had been directly affected by the 28 May attacks in Lahore. There was an Ahmadi lady, who was with her two young children. Her husband and their father had been martyred on 28 May in Garhi Shahu. 6/
The lady had now remarried and was with her new husband, who was the brother of her martyred husband.Very lovingly, Huzoor met each of the family members in turn. Thereafter, Huzoor started to walk towards his office. 7/
When the daughter of the shaheed (martyr), Huba-tul-Waheed (7), observed this, she immediately said:

“Huzoor, mainay aap say kuch baatein karni thi!” – (Huzoor, I wanted to say a few things to you!) 8/
Upon this, Huzoor very affectionately said that that he had to meet some other people and that he would talk to her a little later. The little girl was extremely sweet and Huzoor had responded to her love with a very loving reply. 9/
Of course, Huzoor is he who fulfils all of his promises, and so when his meetings concluded, Huzoor especially sought out the little girl and asked her what she had wanted to say to him. 10/
Upon this, the girl said she wanted to request Huzoor’s prayers for her family & asked:

“Aur doosri baat – aap ka kabb chakar lagra hai hamari taraf?”

Perhaps, the closest translation to her words would be:

“And secondly, when are you going to pop round our house?” 11/
As she said these words, we all started to laugh and Huzoor laughed and enjoyed her comment as well. Such informality in front of Khalifa-Waqt is extremely rare and perhaps exhibited only through the innocence of children. 12/
As he left, Huzoor gave both the little girl and her brother some chocolates as a gift. It was a very beautiful and lovely scene, wherein the love of Khalifa-Waqt for the young child of a martyr and the love of a bereaved child for Khalifa- Waqt was there for all to see. 13/
May Allah always keep Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) in the best of health and enable Ahmadi Muslims across the world to appreciate how fortunate we are & to remain ever loyal to Khilafat. Ameen.
