swimming while trans:

I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico around water

I learned how to swim at age 5 and can swim like a fish

I used to LOVE swimming for rejuvenation and spiritual healing

I haven't been in over 3 years, and it hurts me

being trans makes it impossibly scary

Every single thing you see hurled around twitter from transphobic assholes would be running through my head the entire time. I'm sure there are bathing suits that work and blah blah, but also my fucking hair is a disaster. I just kinda gave up on swimming until further notice.

can't remember my age, but I remember being embarrassed to swim without a shirt after some point in youth, or even change in front of people without a shirt. i remember wondering why no other guys found it weird to take off their shirt casually.
