Notably, Endorsi says a LOT of impactful things and it's a bit frustrating sometimes to see Bam not consider her words too heavily compared to Khun. During the Hell Train arc, she also spares words to him as well, but I can understand why he doesn't accept it (or appear to accep-
-t it. I recall seeing a thread that explains that Bam's thoughts aren't actually shown much throughout the webtoon, and his thoughts are mostly displayed through the people that understand him the best, giving his character a layer of complexity, like he's a human.
We're given enough information to try to make sense of his personality, but we're not given the information directly from him. We aren't entirely sure how his character will grow, or how he might rise or fall, and in the end, we're left watching his journey of growth intently
So I guess my point is, this advice endorsi gave him might have been the motivator he needed to continue climbing the tower and been the motivator he needed to fight (because for the first time since the first episode in the anime, Bam tries to fight) and protect the ones
he holds close rather than mourning over the dead and being a coward forever. Endorsi is telling him to accept that he has a goal that will trample over others in order to reach it. That he can't live in a false reality where everyone can reach their goals forever.
I like to think that these words ended up pushing him to move past Hoh's death, rather than being clung to his death and feeling burdened by it. Like Endorsi says, it causes him to 'move forward without any regrets.' It's one of the pivotal scenes for his character.
One of the scenes where he goes from being a naive little boy who doesn't like fighting, to the boy that fights in order to protect the people around him.
AS MUCH AS EVERYONE HATES RACHEL, PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT to BAM, she is the world to him. She's the one person that was responsible for essentially raising him, for keeping him company while he was essentially stuck in a hole for who knows HOW LONG by himself
In the scene following Endorsi's speech, Bam chooses the option to fight. This shows that he was clearly impacted by Endorsi's words, and growing rapidly not only in strength but as a character. He finally accepts that in the end, he will have to fight in order to achieve his
desire to protect Rachel. To protect Rachel. However....
shiet lemme grab more screenshots f wHAT EPISODE DO I NEED TO GO BACK TO-
I think what is more important than Rachel to him (THAY he doesn’t quite realize) is that he’s not fighting to protect Rachel alone. He’s fighting to protect his ideology. His way of life and what he desires the most. Friends. I think Rachel knows this, partly because she’s a-
B***ch but also because she has seem Bam and is responsible for raising him. Most parents that involved in their child’s development end up knowing them really well inside out, and I’m assuming that she knew that Bam secretly desired to make friends more than anything else
If we were to twist the circumstances around EVER so slightly. If it were anyone else who had discovered Bam in that hole (i.e khun, rak, etc) or multiple people discovered Bam in that hole, he would've felt just as attached to rachel toward them (assuming they were kind to him)
Deep down, rachel acknowledges this fact, and feels even more inferiority. This triggers her inferiority complexes to grow past the Headon chapter (that hasn't been shown in the anime and I really hope it does) where Headon states that Rachel is essentially a leecherous b**ch LOL
(also something about making threads is that i need screenshots and shiet but i'll do that next thread LOL) but anyways, I think something that has NOT been noted about Bam's character at all is his desire to just have friends and keep them, make sure he's there by their side
and all this betrayal nonsense going around during the recent episode is something he can't quite comprehend. He's so used to his naive little world (especially since he ended up becoming friends with everyone so fast) that all the betrayals came as a shock.
Deep down however, Bam acknowledges the reasons why these occur. I think that, seeing Endorsi betray everyone, while she's explaining why, ends up helping him understand why his naive little world is something so fragile. Everyone has a different desire they are desperately
trying to reach. In most circumstances, someone will have to get hurt. Someone will have to go down in order for the other to go up. Endorsi understands this truth to an astonishing degree. Let's just deviate even further for a minute.
(this following portion is for anime-onlys AND webtoon readers alike, about Endorsi) Throughout this episode, we get snippets of Endorsi's upbringing. She is shown to trample over others in order to reach a perfect life fit for a princess of jahad.
What isn't noted however, is how she seems to hate this truth that she HAS to step over others in order to reach her goals. She seems frustrated that this is the reality of the situation, but in the end accepts it because that was the only way she could achieve her goals.
Endorsi may seem like a cold-hearted jerk at first, but due to her upbringing, where she was faced with cruel conditions before she learned to aggressively step over others through hook or crook, she ends up accepting this reality and ends up founding her personality around it
Endorsi, who had the desire to eat the better meals. Just a simple desire as that, was faced with conditions where she has to outperform so many other princess candidates in order to reach that goal. Because of this, she has to realize very early on in her upbringing that the
tower is astonishingly cold. That, to reach her goals, she'd end up having to step over people often. *spoiler* Imagine being a child who wanted to lead a normal life (this is a webtoon spoiler, see the Hidden Floor arc for more about Endorsi's character) only to face
the fact that her life from now on would be to climb the tower, no exceptions. In order to live, stepping over others would have to be second nature. Most of the other princess of Jahad realize this, which is partly why all of them are twisted in some way
Endorsi rejects this norm however. In this episode, despite her cruel intentions, she wants to climb the tower with Anak. I believe that Endorsi genuinely hates climbing over others deep down. I think that if she didn't hate herself, she would have abandoned Anak rather than
climbed the tower with her. However she still steps over people often simply because that's HER ideology. That's what she believes in and was raised to believe, in that twisted environment.
returning back to the previous topic however, Endorsi pushes this ideology onto Bam, who like I said, rejects it at first, but recognizes this reality once he is faced with Hoh's death. Here, he finally understands that betrayals, hook and crook? it all has to occur for people
to reach their desires. However he doesn't see this at surface value. Normally, most people would simply take the ideology at surface value and think "Oh to reach my goals, I have to do anything possible." However, due to Endorsi's dialogue here-
he ends up seeing the betrayals, the fighting, all of that, as a way people fight. That's their way of fighting for their goals. A way to achieve those goals. He doesn't hate them for it or misunderstands their reasons because of this dialogue. In fact he understands that to
reach his goals, he must fight. What makes the dialogue soooo much more impactful on Bam's development however is how Endorsi states that he should find his own way to reach his goals. 'YES. You should fight. But fight in your own way.' This indicates that endorsi understands
Bam is still maturing and coming to terms with the reality. In order to soften the impact of those words, she adds that sentence in. Not only that, but she recognizes that her method and the betrayal method is in most circumstances wrong. But it's the only way most of the
characters can reach their goals. Anyways I'm running out of analysis juice so I'm going to end this thread here, but before that-
I REALLY like Khun's words here. It's a foreshadowing that you have to get stronger, to fight for your desires. At first, Bam doesn't quite understand why this is necessary, because all he cares about really, is making friends. He only cares about keeping them by his side
without worrying about the future, (naivety). However, this episodes ends up helping him that he has to fight just to be able to reach his desire (which is again, to stay with his friends and to stop being left behind). He MUST fight.
Anyways not sure if anyone read this far, but if you did, thank you SO much for reading this entire thread, and I hope you got something out of it! I'll be makign more threads like this from time to time (given if I have time and amass screencaps LOL)
