Some achievements of Nehru:

*Famine deaths stopped and poverty came down to 59% from 70%
*Children enrollment in schools increased by 150%. It took another 40 years for the next 150% jump.
* industrial sector grew 7.0% annually
*Imports halved by 1960.

* For a few years, India grew faster than China, America around 1963
* established agricultural universities such as JNKVV and GPUAT
* about 565 princely state were politically integrated to Indian Union with the help of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with full support of Nehru govt

*Nehru established IIT , CSIR , Bhabha Atomic Research Center, National Physical and Chemical Laboratories, AIIMS and many other such institutions all over India

crop production increased by 80% during 1950–1960, the biggest growth ever, increasing fertilizer usage from less than 1 Lakh tonne to 2 million tonne and increased healthcare (average life expectancy went from 32.5 to 46
