this thread is long overdue but i miss sakusa so yeah ch 394

+
sakusa giving importance to the /process/ and those aspects of life he has grasp on, or those that are “controllable” now gives more depth to the meteorite bonk speech back in high school.
that speech was the same time iizuna got injured. at that moment, sakusa was thinking things through: his mindset of “if you prepare and do things well, you are given good results” (as per komoris take on how sakusa pays attention to processes) so he ponders: why?
1. you’ve practiced enough
2. you’ve prepared properly
—“and that’s why it hurts even more!!”

now THIS is just downright painful. it’s painful because it’s too true: you can persevere and excel today, but there are things out of your grasp giving you the uncertainty of what+
tomorrow brings. there is more to life than just persevering or working hard.

there is also luck.

not everyone is given chances and as per udai tenma in ch 393:
the world is fair. sakusa has his wrists, he’s strong, he gives his all, he’s dedicated.

the world is unfair. there are things outside of his control and out of his grasp. there is uncertainty in what tomorrow may bring.
and now what sakkyo wants is despite being aware of how things can end so abruptly, he wants it to end on a positive note which gives him satisfaction, which would give validation to how much he gave attention and importance to the process and journey.
^^

end of thread lmao just me babbling about sakusa aaaaaahhh
