The man on the right isn’t Derek Chauvin. He isn’t a cop. He is Jonathan Lee Riches, a notorious con man, troll and prankster, not to mention the "world's most litigious man." Riches injects himself, indefensibly, into tragic news events, even if it means going to prison. https://twitter.com/icecube/status/1265623592764534784
Riches just emailed me. That pic of him began circulating after he found people harassing Chauvin's wife on FB and tried to intervene, he claims. FB users assumed he was a relative. "Took a photo of me & spread it like I was [Chauvin]." (He also claims the hat is photoshopped.)
As with any Riches assertion, fact-checking is necessary. This is a man, after all, who posts pictures like the below and doesn't seem to understand (or care) where the troll ends and the harm begins. It appears he now has far-right connections too.
More on how Riches jammed up the federal court system by filing so many absurdist lawsuits. To cite one example, he sued George W. Bush for being a time traveler who plotted with the Duke of Normandy to "pervert the English Dictionary and Law." https://web.archive.org/web/20130125201309/http://www.details.com/culture-trends/critical-eye/201302/lawsuit-sue-jonathan-lee-riches
Unfortunately, the slogan on Riches' MAGA cap is now trending on Twitter, the engine that makes wretched things trend. Some of my favorite rappers are amplifying Riches' disinfo. Hellscape.
