being Black is the World’s problem. being Black is a problem for the World. Black being in the World is a problem.

nothing done or yet said can make being Black not a burden. yet nothing yet born or dead is worth bearing being Black. being Black is as amazing as it is horrifying; it is, in fact, amazing because, over, under, and against the horror that births it, which it bears in the flesh.

I need us to stop doing this romantic thing with blackness that attempts to disentangle it from the world and/as the violent science of being/power/knowledge which brought it forth so that we can blindly enjoy as what it is not or as anything other than the terrible beauty it is.
