There's a huge difference between a rush job and someone who's spent years perfecting their craft to produce a high quality custom work in 2 hours. Speed & efficiency is a valuable trade skill. The reddit OP is the asshole. https://twitter.com/Annamatedarts/status/1265483235384913920
If you ever have a concern about what you paid for a commission vs. What you got, ask 2 questions:

Was the deadline met? Is it the result/quality promised?

How long the artist takes to produce the piece really shouldn't matter if it doesn't affect those.
Also, I'll echo another thing to keep in mind.

A custom artwork catered to your exact wish should never be worth less than or equal to a mass printed artwork at ikea/target etc.
And if you recieve high quality custom artwork FASTER than expected, honestly, that's an opportunity to tip well if it's an option.
Often these conversations feel very artist biased, and I've had many client folk come to me for advice on a situation where there is a very real discrepancy. So let me take a moment in this thread to share some insights for both artist and client alike.
