Have been bawling for an hour after hearing @NPR air the audio of George Floyd gasping for air this morning.
I have many feelings right now. One is sadness and another is rage, but another is confusion.

As someone who personally awakened to the white fragile illusion of “unbiased and factual” coverage, I can’t help but think about how that audio wasn’t meant to serve my community.
I can’t help but think that that audio was meant to help white donors and listeners sympathize with black trauma and that is disgusting and infuriating.

We are carrying grief while isolated away in our homes. We are carrying grief while still trying to get over grieving a global pandemic.
Black people should not have to negotiate their existence and white newsrooms and leaders just can’t see that.
