1As you can imagine given most of the countries in the continent have ongoing #COVID19 responses it is
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙄" title="Face with rolling eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Face with rolling eyes"> that Harvard couldnt find an expert from within the continent, either from Ministries of Health, from the various parliaments, academia, professional associations or civic spaces
2. A significant amount of literature around #COVID19 has come out of the continent on the efficacy, utility, innovations & the threat of rights in the course of this response.& this is not a monolith as each country has a different experience of both the Pandemic & its response.
3. We are quite disappointed that @HarvardFxb could find none of these people, for an & #39;African (if there even is such a thing)& #39; on #COVID19 @klts0 @SABloggers
4. Within these measures there have been considerations given to the demographics of the individual countries, and given that the continent has a smaller ageing population lock down was not the first option for many.
5. However,as the leanings around the virus have evolved so have the measures taken to address it & the assumption that we can simply isolate older persons is not founded in science. Most of the deaths in Kenya have been with people under 60. #COVID19
