Hey fellow white ladies, with the recent events, you may wonder, "How can I avoid losing my dog and my job and becoming the latest Internet Karen?" Well, I'm happy to help by scripting out some responses to situations to help keep your Karen in check. 1/7
First, let's take the recent Karen Incident. Here's one way she could have prevented such epic internet backlash and life-changing events:
White Lady: *walking dog on leash in Central Park*
Person of Color: *birding in same area*
WL: Morning!
POC: Good Morning!
2/7
Alternately:
WL: *walking dog off leash*
POC: *trying to bird* Hey lady, leash your dog! Please!
WL: Oh crap! I'm sorry! *leashes dog*
POC: Thanks!
WL: No problem! Enjoy the birds!

Even if you misunderstand the situation or don't want to be nice, you can still resolve it by avoiding the Karen pitfall. Watch closely here:
WL: *dog off leash*
POC: Hey! Leash your dog!
WL: He needs to run.
POC: Srsly?
WL: Whatever, jerk. *walks off w/dog*
POC: *lives*

See what happened there? You didn't call the police! Good for you! Yeah, you were a jerk & broke the rules, but even Karens can be normal shitheads. Just try to not involve the racist power structure that has been oppressing people of color since it began.

There are lots of ways to resolve confrontations or disagreements with people without calling the cops or even calling a manager. You can:
*Politely disagree and walk off.
*Call someone a jerk and walk off.
*Grumble quietly to yourself & then bitch about it when you get home.

We can be white ladies without being Karens, it's rather simple. Remember, these three rules:
1. It's not all about you.
2. Inconveniencing you or annoying you is not a crime.
3. Don't call the damn cops.
